Alford Safe & Lock Co. has been a trusted name in security for over 75 years. Our journey began in 1946 when the Alford brothers moved from Texas to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They opened their locksmith shop at 1728 Main Street, laying the foundation for what would become a cornerstone of the Baton Rouge community.
In the 1950s, the business relocated to its current location at 1758 Government Street, where it continues to serve customers across southern Louisiana.
During the 1970s, Edgar Alford retired and his son, Gary Alford, took over the family business. Under Gary’s leadership, Alford Safe & Lock Co. continued to grow, earning a reputation for reliability and top-notch customer service. Gary was deeply connected to the Baton Rouge community, and he dedicated his life to both the business and the people it served.
In May 2021, Gary passed away surrounded by his loved ones. In the wake of his passing, his wife, Mary Alford, stepped in to lead the company alongside their grandson, Brayden Wilkinson. Together, Mary and Brayden proudly carry on the family legacy, staying true to the values that have defined the business for decades.
